this week on my needles

This week started off with KnitxMidwest. It was a little scary, intense, fun and inspiring. One of the reasons I attended was to meet people in the knitting community. So, I sat with some ladies I had never met. It was scary and hard, but I did it, and I am glad I did. I met some great people. It kicked off at 10:00 AM and wrapped up at 4:00 PM and I only took a couple of small breaks. It was intense but in a good way. It's hard to focus on one thing for that long. I worked on a pattern I'm writing for a cable knit hat. It was also fun and inspiring to be in a room with so many talented and creative woman who all share one passion. At the end of the day, I wish I had taken more pictures, but there are some great ones available from Hill Vintage

The rest of the week I worked on a pair of Really Quick Mitts I made for a birthday gift. I can't recommend these mittens enough. They are so fast, and they look great.

I'm heading out tomorrow for Palm Springs for a week. I'm so excited to get spend time knitting outside in the sun, especially since the weather is supposed to turn cold in Des Moines this week.
